About the role

At Tiplink, we’re building the future of payments and blockchain integrations. As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of this innovation, owning the development of the foundational backend systems that power our platform. From designing scalable APIs and integrating payment systems to optimizing infrastructure for growth, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our systems are reliable, high-performing, and secure.

Role Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the core backend systems and services that power our product.

• Monitor, optimize, and scale our backend services while maintaining high availability and performance standards.

• Create and implement engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural patterns for the backend team.

• Develop internal tools, automation, and documentation that improve team productivity and code quality.

• Make key architectural decisions and guide technical strategy while considering business impact and scalability.

• Share backend knowledge, review team member’s code, and help grow the technical capabilities of the team

• Create robust, well-documented payments-focused APIs and services that enable product features and third-party integrations.

• Own our cloud infrastructure setup, deployment processes, and development workflows

What You Need to be Successful (a.k.a. Qualifications)

• Strong Backend Systems Architecture Experience - Proven track record of designing and building scalable distributed systems

• Technical Leadership and Ownership - History of owning critical backend infrastructure and making key architectural decisions

• Cloud Infrastructure Expertise - Deep experience with cloud services, containerization, and infrastructure as code

• System Performance and Reliability - Track record of building and maintaining highly available systems with strong monitoring and optimization

• API Design and Integration Experience - History of creating robust, well-documented APIs and integrating complex systems

• Team Collaboration and Mentorship - Ability to work effectively in a small team while helping others grow technically

• Strong Communication Skills - Can explain complex technical concepts clearly and work well with non-technical teammates

Bonus points if you:

• Have experience at early-stage startups.

• Have worked with our specific tech stack (Node.js/Typescript, Terraform, AWS)

• Have led technical strategy at a growing company

• Have experience working in the cryptocurrency or payments industry.
