Senior Accounting Manager

Our client, a high-growth asset management firm, is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join their expanding finance team.

Location:
San Francisco, CA.

The position is hybrid, with in-office work expected 2 days per week (Monday and Tuesday), with potential to increase to 3–4 days/week.

Job Description:
This is a high-impact role with direct exposure to leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, timely fund and management company reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and review quarterly/annual financial statements, audits, tax returns, and regulatory filings
  • Design and implement policies and procedures to enhance finance operations
  • Serve as primary liaison with fund administrators, auditors, and tax teams
  • Review accounting journals, ledgers, and transactions for funds and management company
  • Process and review fund investment and expense transactions
  • Monitor banking activity and manage wires, capital calls/distributions, and credit line requests
  • Maintain organized accounting documentation and internal controls
  • Manage investor communications and reporting portal
  • Collaborate with investment and compliance teams on ad-hoc projects
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • Mentor and develop finance staff

Requirements:
  • 7 years of venture capital or asset management accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of core accounting principles
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
