Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Accountant (Audit & Financial Reporting) in Chicago, IL for our client, supporting audit, financial reporting, and advisory initiatives across accounting and finance. This in-office role partners with finance and accounting teams on SEC reporting, financial planning and analysis, internal controls, and process improvements to support complex reporting and business needs.
Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant (Audit & Financial Reporting):
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Assist with operating plans, quarterly forecasts, long-range planning, and complex financial models focused on profitability, pricing, and cost analysis.
- SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting: Support SEC reporting deliverables and technical accounting analysis in accordance with U.S. GAAP and FASB standards.
- Audit & Financial Reporting: Support financial and operational audits, consolidated reporting, and transaction-related integration efforts.
- Strategic & Transactional Support: Perform deal analysis, capital planning, R&D budgeting, and marketing ROI analysis to inform business decisions.
- Systems, Controls & Process Optimization: Assist with internal control documentation, month-end close improvements, and financial systems implementation projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Certification: CPA preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of public accounting experience at a CPA firm, ideally Big Four or national, with experience performing at the Senior level.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong exposure to SEC reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, and audit coordination within complex corporate environments.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency with experience supporting financial systems, reporting tools, and process automation initiatives.
