Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Accountant (Audit & Financial Reporting) in Detroit, MI for our client, supporting complex audit, reporting, and advisory work across accounting and finance. This in-office role focuses on SEC reporting, financial planning and analysis, internal controls, and reporting enhancements while collaborating with finance and accounting teams to improve accuracy, efficiency, and business insights.
Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant:
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Contribute to annual plans, quarterly forecasting, long-term planning initiatives, and advanced financial modeling related to margins, pricing, and cost efficiency.
- SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting: Assist with SEC reporting requirements and technical accounting research in alignment with U.S. GAAP and FASB guidance.
- Audit & Financial Reporting: Support financial and operational audit activities, consolidated financial reporting, and transaction-related integration support.
- Strategic & Transactional Analysis: Analyze acquisitions, divestitures, capital investments, R&D spend, and marketing performance to support informed decision-making.
- Systems, Controls & Process Improvement: Support internal control documentation, month-end close enhancements, and finance systems implementation initiatives.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Certification: CPA preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of public accounting experience at a CPA firm, ideally Big Four or national, with experience performing at the Senior level.
- Industry Knowledge: Demonstrated experience supporting SEC reporting, technical accounting matters, internal controls, and audit processes within complex organizations.
- Technical Skills: Strong Excel skills with experience working in financial systems, reporting platforms, and process improvement or automation initiatives.
