Health Gorilla is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant. You will report directly to the Controller and contribute to the growth of the Accounting department and the development of the Company. As a Senior Accountant, you will be a functional owner of processes within the General Ledger and across multiple teams. As the fourth member of a dynamic accounting team, you will have meaningful responsibilities, and this presents an excellent opportunity for enhanced learning and career development.

What you will do at Health Gorilla

  • Manage month-end closing by performing M/Q/Y account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
  • Responsible for quality, accuracy and timeliness of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations observing GAAP accounting standards. Areas of responsibility will include (but are not limited to): Prepaids, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable, Bank Accounts, Accounts Payable, and Accruals.
  • Partner with payroll team to resolve non-reconciling items and other analysis of bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Own daily responsibility of accounts receivable including customer communication.
  • Record and process daily financial activities to ensure appropriate entries are made and internal controls are observed.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Human Resources, and other teams on the monthly close and other projects.
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors.
  • Run monthly business specific invoice generation and update accordingly for certain customers and multiple accounts, as well as send invoices to customers on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable collection process by collaboration with external debt collection agencies and the client termination process.
  • Prepare customer payment analysis for commission calculation.
  • Support the state registration and submission of all required state income tax, unemployment, and sales tax returns and payments.
  • Process daily financial transactions including accounts payable, corporate credit card reconciliations, and other transactional issues.

What you bring to the role

  • 5+ years of Accounting experience
  • A degree in Accounting/Finance and CPA
  • Fluent in NetSuite, AvaTax, Paystand, Ramp, and Bill.com
  • Technical background and knowledge base of all aspects of GAAP
  • Proactive with a strong attention to detail
  • Prior startup experience in fast-growing B2B SaaS company
  • Willing to come into our office in Coral Gables a few days each week

  • Health Gorilla takes a market-based approach to pay, and the base salary range for this role is $90,000 to $120,000, based on experience and geography. Please note that ranges may be modified at any time, and there is no guarantee offers will be at the top of a posted range.
