About the job

The Ohio State University Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients and the service provided to visitors and employees. The Security Operations function is tasked to provide a safe, secure environment in all areas of the Departments responsibility.

Under the general supervision of Assistant Director, the Security Supervisor serves as the primary security officer on their assigned shift, and is responsible for all supervisory functions for security personnel working on their assigned shift. This includes staff that carries out security functions in every area of the Departments Scope of operations. This position is responsible for the day to day operations of security staff and operations at the Medical Center, and will oversee their assigned shifts daily operations at all areas of responsibility remote from The OSU Medical Center.

Patrols, monitors, investigates and communicates regarding all aspects of Security and Public Safety. Incumbent is the first line of contact for a department which is tasked with the responsibility of providing a safe, secure environment for staff, visitors and patients within their assigned area of responsibility.

Operations at all sites are conducted 24 hours per day 7 days a week.

This supervisor may also be required to cover for other Security Department Supervisors due to absence, vacation or other unforeseen instance, as necessary.

Responsibilities include actively promoting an Intensive Caring image in support of absolute customer satisfaction.

The Security Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of all personnel working their assigned shift, and for operations and compliance with all Medical Center and Department Policies during shift operations. The supervisor is responsible for inspecting staff and operational activity, coordinating staffing with the Senior Security Manger on duty or on call, delegating authority and evaluating personnel performance. This supervisor will prioritize activity and staffing to ensure that appropriate security is maintained in all areas of responsibility. Will actively support and participate on the Department of Securitys Security Management Task Force team in supporting the departments goals and mission.
