Position Overview:Join our pioneering team at the forefront of otology and neurodegeneration research. In the role as Research Scientist at AudioCure Pharma, you will be instrumental in shaping our drug development approach with a focus on otic disorders. As part of our team, you will apply a range of experimental methods, employing both in vitro and in vivo techniques, to evaluate efficacy and elucidate the mode-of-action (MoA) for our lead compound AC102. Additionally, you will design robust strategies to further develop our drug pipeline and drive the transition from local to systemic drug administration, paving the way to new therapeutic solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking advancements while working within an interdisciplinary team of experts dedicated to developing drugs with high unmet medical need. Further reading: www.audiocure.com, Rommelspacher et al., PNAS 2024, doi: 10.1073/pnas.2314763121.Key Responsibilities:- As a member of a highly interdisciplinary team, you drive the scientific progress of research projects while ensuring innovative and high-quality experimental approaches- You design, coordinate, and execute cellular and biochemical assays to support the discovery of the MoA- You contribute to further development of AudioCure’s drug pipeline- You are open to integrate state-of-the art methods and techniques into research projects- You document and critically evaluate experimental data and prepare scientific reports- You ensure that all research activities comply with scientific and regulatory standards- You prepare and hold presentations for internal discussions as wells as external stakeholders and take an active part in video conferences with collaboration partnersRequired Experience and Skills:- A PhD in neurobiology or other research and development relevant subject (e.g. biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology)- 5-years+ experience in leading research projects and employing in vivo and in vitro experimental models- Extensive experience in working with cell culture models (cell lines, primary cells, iPSCs)- Expertise in applying innovative cell biological and biochemical assays for plate reader based and fluorescence-based analysis- Prior experience working with animal models for functional and behavioral analysis- Skilled in independent interpretation, analysis, documentation and presentation of scientific data following scientific standards- High proficiency in written and spoken EnglishPreferred Experience and Skills:- Significant experience in the field of neurodegeneration or otology- Previous experience in working for a pharma company and in complying with industry standards- Good knowledge in MS office suite and other statistical software (e.g. Prism)- Experience in the selection and productive cooperation with CROs- Knowledge of the German languageTo be considered for this position, please send your CV and cover letter to careers@ac-clinical.com
