Your New Role

As Recruitment Officer, you’ll be at the heart of a busy HR department, supporting the full recruitment lifecycle and onboarding process.

You’ll be a visible and operational presence, working closely with hiring managers to deliver a high-quality, proactive recruitment service.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Managing the end-to-end recruitment processes, from job adverts to appointment.
  • Use e-recruitment systems to handle applications, candidate communications, and status updates.
  • Coordinate interview logistics, including room bookings, virtual interviews, and travel arrangements.
  • Draft and issue offer letters, conduct right-to-work checks, and liaise with Occupational Health.
  • Maintain accurate personnel records and ensure compliance with GDPR and Home Office regulations.
  • Support onboarding and induction processes for new starters, students, and visitors.
  • Produce recruitment-related reports and statistics and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues and act as a point of contact for recruitment queries.
  • Represent HR on interview panels and advise on best practices.

What You’ll Need:

  • Degree in HR, Recruitment, or a business-related subject (or equivalent experience), or CIPD Level 5.
  • Proven experience in recruitment, ideally in-house, with knowledge of UK immigration and right-to-work checks.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with recruitment systems.
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of working within an academic environment or a not-for-profit organisation (desirable).
