About Base
Base is building the foundation of American power. The grid is the largest, most complex machine in the world. Yet it’s aging, struggling to keep up with today’s demand, and is unprepared for our electrified future.
Base is modernizing the grid as the first engineering-led, technology-driven power company. We’re deploying a nationwide network of distributed batteries that strengthens critical infrastructure and saves Americans money.
Our team of engineers, operators, creatives, technicians, and electricians design and deploy systems at speed. If you want to tackle the problem that will define this century and shape the future of American energy, now is the time. Join us.
About the Role
We're hiring a Recruiting Coordinator to take ownership of the candidate experience and support hiring across the company. In this role, you’ll set the tone for every candidate interaction, keep interviews running with precision, and jump in to solve problems before they slow us down. You’ll partner closely with recruiters and hiring teams to help scale our talent pipeline and build the teams powering America's energy future. This role is on-site in our Austin, TX headquarters.
What You’ll Do
Coordinate on-site interviews and handle day-of logistics.
Greet candidates who visit the office with confidence and facilitate the on-site interview process.
Correspond with candidates via phone, text, and email.
Keep our candidate data clean in Ashby so that it can be our source of truth for reporting.
Assist candidates with travel and reimbursements through Juno.
Find opportunities for system improvement, including identifying bottlenecks, improving candidate experience, and scheduling efficiency.
Support the full cycle recruiting process by collaborating closely with recruiters, hiring managers, and interviewers.
Support event planning in various ways, from placing merch orders to coordinating, planning, and setting up recruiting events.
Jump in on special projects that support scaling the recruiting function.
What You’ll Bring
Highly organized and detail-focused; you notice and fix the small things that others miss.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; you approach interactions with the goal of being clear & concise.
Prior experience in a fast‑paced or startup environment.
Ability to pivot last-minute and keep operations running smoothly when variables change.
Our Values
We’re building a winning culture and we’re looking for people who are up for the challenge. Here’s what we expect from day one:
In-Person Only: We work full-time in the office. No hybrid. No remote.
Challenge the Status Quo: Question assumptions. Fix broken systems. Principles > rules.
Move Fast: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.
Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble. Challenge ideas–including your own.
Own the Outcome: Take full responsibility. Deliver results. No excuses.
Act Like an Owner: Be resourceful, mindful of impact, and committed to the business.
Be Decisive: Drive clarity. Make bold calls with imperfect info.
Bring the Intensity: This is not a 9-to-5. We're building something hard which requires real commitment.
