Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager

Rousselot is one of the world's leading producers of gelatin and is a recognized partner in the pharmaceutical and food industries. We have an immediate need for an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst for our Quality Department at our Peabody location in North Shore, Massachusetts.

Job Duties: This individual will be responsible for maintaining and implementing quality assurance programs and physical/chemical laboratory testing protocols.

  • Coordinates activities within the physical/chemical area of the laboratory. Maintains and coordinates lab supply inventories.
  • Reviews test results of semi-finished and finished goods. Conducts investigations into product nonconformities.
  • Generates certificates of analysis on finished lots.
  • Maintains external training and leads the ISO internal audit and Food Defense teams
  • Develops and validates new testing methods and protocols. Trains employees and verifies competency as required.
  • Promotes quality and food safety principles in production. Assists production with process improvements.
  • Monitors and tracks corrective actions for internal deviations, audit findings, suppliers, nonconforming product.
  • Ad hoc member of the Food Safety Team. Comprehends HACCP principles and FDA Food Safety Program requirements. External certification in HACCP and FSMA PCQI training. Reviews and verifies documentation prior to product shipment.
  • Coordinates communications with Pest Control Company. Verifies actions are taken when required.
  • Promotes and manages Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma in the lab. Green Belt certified.
  • Assists with Kosher/Halal programs.

Required Education and Experience

  1. 4 Year Degree in a related subject.
  2. FSMA PCQI certified
  3. HACCP Certification

Preferred Education, Experience & Qualifications

  1. Experience in a food manufacturing environment
  2. Experience working with any of the U.S. government agencies such as FDA, USDA/APHIS with food and/or pet food/animal feed, Qualified PCQI. Experience with Halal certifications and audits ensuring protocols are enforced and followed.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
  • Occasionally must push, pull, move or lift up to 10lbs.
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
