About the job
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a civil/structural engineering background to oversee the construction and commissioning of a reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment plant. This role will lead project execution across engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) interfaces to bring a new drinking-water system online safely and successfully. The ideal candidate has previously managed water/wastewater or industrial facility construction projects, understands full EPC project cycles, and can coordinate diverse teams in Jamaica or Dominican.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end project management for the construction of a reverse osmosis water treatment plant.
Oversee all civil and structural activities including foundations, structures, site layout, and integration with mechanical and process systems.
Manage EPC workflows: engineering reviews, procurement tracking, subcontractor oversight, construction progress, and quality assurance.
Coordinate with engineering teams, vendors, contractors, and local authorities in Jamaica.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and reporting dashboards.
Ensure construction activities meet design specifications, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
Oversee procurement planning, bid evaluations, material expediting, logistics, and delivery to site.
Conduct regular site visits to Jamaica and drive on-site issue resolution.
Facilitate commissioning readiness, testing, documentation, and turnover to operations.
Maintain clear communication with internal leadership, stakeholders, and external partners.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
5–10+ years of experience managing industrial, infrastructure, water treatment, or process-plant construction projects.
Strong understanding of EPC project execution models and contract structures.
Hands-on experience with reverse osmosis systems, water treatment facilities, or utility-scale engineering projects (preferred).
Proficiency in project controls, scheduling (Primavera P6 or MS Project), and construction documentation.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple workstreams across different geographies.
Strong understanding of procurement, subcontracts, logistics, and vendor management.
Ability to travel internationally for two-week rotations; ability to work on a remote U.S. basis when not on site.
Work Environment & Travel
U.S.-based with flexible location; proximity to a major airport is ideal.
Travel to Jamaica or Dominican for two-week assignments during construction phases
Typical schedule is hybrid: remote management between site rotations.
