About the job
I have a 3 month contract (with the view to extend) for a Project Manager based in Chester. This role is paying £22 an hour via umbrella, the role is inside ir35.
The Information Assurance and Data Management (IADM) programme has a requirement for a project management resource to support the delivery of Digitisation, Information Assurance, GDPR and Data Management projects.
The programme is tasked with supporting and embedding organisational compliance for information / data privacy rights, security, data management etc. and so has a number of medium / large projects commissioned to achieve objectives.
The project manager will be required to work independently and lead a number of essential projects which need to be delivered on time as they impact on the wider programme plan. Projects include technologies such as SharePoint, Electronic Document Management Systems, Scanning (digitisation) of records as well as business and process focussed projects such as Strategy implementations, process improvements for GDPR compliance and supporting the wider programme business change plan.
The project manager must be able to work to timescales and have the initiative to run with projects whilst ensuring the correct levels of governance are in place and maintained. The PM will be supported by the programme manager and a wider team which works very closely together.
JOB PURPOSE:
To manage, develop and implement and maintain a range of information and communications technology (ICT) policies, processes, projects, products and services for the Council in accordance with the Corporate Plan and ICT investment strategy and delivery programme. To ensure delivery meets the requirements of the business and complies with appropriate professional, technical and national standards.
Experience
Management at a senior level in an IT environment.
Evidence of having initiated process improvement on an ongoing basis.
Participation in recognised management development training.
Experience of working with senior personnel in a large organization
Clear evidence of successful operational or support management within an IT area.
Knowledge and Skills
An understanding of services of the Council.
Understanding of effective performance measurement.
Statistics and trend analysis.
Knowledge of Gantt Charts and Project Management Tools.
An ability to plan, initiate and implement change and quality improvements in service delivery, using creativity and innovation.
