About the job

What will you do on the programme?

Procurement and Supply Chain sits at the heart of everything we do. It ensures that resources, suppliers and services are managed effectively to keep projects on track and deliver for our customers.

This graduate programme offers the change to develop a broad understanding of how supply chains work on a national and global scale. You’ll learn how we source responsibly, manage supplier relationships, and apply technology and data to support the business.

The programme gives you the opportunity to see how working in Procurement and Supply Chain supports both our customers and colleagues, and contributes to a safer more secure world.

How is the programme structured?

This two-year programme combines functional experience with leadership development to prepare you for a future leadership role in procurement and supply chain. You’ll complete four six-month placements across the UK, in areas such as source-to-contract, operational procurement, category management, procurement enablement, supplier quality, and support to business growth.

During your rotations, you’ll work with diverse teams and contribute to key projects. By the end of the programme, you’ll have developed practical skills, gained valuable experience, and explored the wide range of career paths available at Babcock.

How do we develop and support you?

From day one, you’ll receive structured support, personalised training, and dedicated mentorship to help you excel throughout your programme and beyond.

You’ll join our Graduate Development Programme, featuring expert-led masterclasses on communication, personal branding, resilience, and wellbeing.

What rewards and benefits will you get?

We want you to feel supported, valued and excited about what’s ahead. That’s why we offer a comprehensive package designed to support your development, your wellbeing and your life outside of work too.

In addition to a minimum starting salary of £35,000, you’ll benefit from:

  • A minimum of 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, with agile working options subject to discussion with your manager

  • Generous pension and employee share schemes

  • Adaptable benefits, including cycle to work scheme, discounts

  • Wellbeing support, covering mental, physical, financial, and social wellbeing, with services like our Employee Assistance Programme, digital GP service, and health checks.

You’ll also have the chance to get involved in our STEM outreach activities and volunteering opportunities.

What do you need to apply?

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and demonstrable interest in procurement or supply chain.

  • Many of our graduate programmes are subject to Security Clearance and Trade Control restrictions which mean that your place of birth, nationality, citizenship, or residency you hold or have held may impact which programmes you are eligible for. For this programme, you must be able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance.

Where will you be based?

Our Procurement and Supply Chain Graduate Programme for Autumn 2026 is a Group programme, which means your placements could take you to locations across the UK. These may include Plymouth, London, Bristol, Donnington and Warrington in England, as well as HM Naval Base Clyde in Scotland.

We ask all our graduates to be adaptable and open to moving during the programme, as our teams are based close to our customers. This variety is part of what makes the programme so rewarding, giving you the chance to see different parts of our business in action. We’ll work with you to understand your preferences and will always try to balance them with the needs of the business.

Ready to apply?

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and the programme may close early if we receive a high volume of interest. To give yourself the best chance of being considered, we recommend submitting your application and completing any required online assessments as soon as possible.
