Job Description:
3M is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer for its Manufacturing team located in Perth, ON The successful candidate will make an impact by being the key contact for the processes within the Scotchbrite Plant, driving EHS and Regulatory alignment, with the support of the plant Safety organization.
Job Summary:
The Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and evaluate existing processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Design and develop new processes and systems to enhance production efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate with product development teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Implement process control systems and monitor performance metrics.
- Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot process-related issues.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Train and support production staff on new processes and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation.
To set you up for success in this role from Day 1, 3M requires (at minimum) the following qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline
- Three (3) combined years of product engineering, process engineering, project engineering, project management, and/or research laboratory experience
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Experience working in a manufacturing facility
- Demonstrated results driving projects/initiatives related to Productivity Improvement and Cost Reduction projects.
- Technical experience in robotics programming & converting
Location: Perth, Canada
Travel: In this role, you will be required to travel less than 5% of the time (domestic/international), which may involve overnight stays. A valid driver’s license is required.
