About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer to play a critical role in architecting our platform, leading our coding efforts with hands on the code, and providing technical mentoring to our growing engineering team. You will be instrumental in shaping our technical direction and ensuring the quality and scalability of our solutions. This role requires a seasoned engineer with 8+ years of experience in both AI and full-stack engineering who can contribute directly to development while guiding and supporting the growth of other engineers.
Core Responsibilities
Design, architect and lead implementation of our platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
Write high-quality, maintainable code across the full stack, with a focus on AI/ML pipelines and functionality including RAG.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
Collaborate with product and business teams to understand and define requirements and map them to technical choices.
Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes and best practices, including code reviews and testing.
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of experience in full-stack web development with at least 3+ years focussed on AI/ML engineering.
Proven track record of architecting complex systems and writing high-quality code.
Extensive experience integrating AI/ML services via APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Braintrust, LlamaIndex, etc.).
Deep understanding of large language model APIs, prompt engineering, and LLM workflow design.
Fluency with modern web stacks and frameworks (React, Next, Node, Supabase, Vercel, Python).
Strong system design and architecture skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to others.
Experience in mentoring and developing engineering talent.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with financial data and documents.
Experience with RAG implementations and vector databases.
Experience with agentic AI platforms and tools.
Experience deploying AI/ML software to cloud platforms.
Understanding of security best practices for financial applications.
