Position Description
The Department of Mathematics at Columbia University invites applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Research Scientist to begin July 1, 2024. The successful applicant is expected to collaborate with Professor de Jong on research activities related to the Simons collaboration on perfection in Algebra, Geometry, and Topology (http://scop.math.berkeley.edu/) including developing relevant content for the Stacks project. Preference is given to candidates whose research is relevant to the goals of the Simons Collaboration.

Qualifications
PhD is required at the time of appointment. Candidates must have excellent scholarship and show promise for future development; must demonstrate the potential to develop strong publishing and research records; and must have the potential to do pioneering research in their area of specialization.

Salary Range or Pay Grade
$89,900-$92,597

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
