PhD Candidate in particle physics (theory)

Beauty quarks are promising tools to perform powerful precision tests of the Standard Model of Particle Physics. These tests require to match the wealth of experimental data currently available with precise theoretical predictions. This requires understanding the nonperturbative long-distance effects. In this project, we will pursue this challenging task. Specifically,

• You will investigate  phenomenological aspects of flavour physics, focused on B meson decays;
• You will improve theoretical Standard Model predictions required to explore the patterns of New Physics
• You will collaborate with the experimental community particular with the LHCb Collaboration
• You will teach in course Quantum Mechanics and possibly Particle Physics
• You will become an expert in the heavy-quark expansion and expand the predictions to higher-order in mb using reparametrization invariance. 
• You will be part of the theory group and LHCb group at Nikhef.
