Homework Club Lead – Teaching Assistant Salary: £17.00 per hour Working Hours: 2 hours per session, 2 days per week (Term Time Only) Location: Hackney Contract Type: Part-time, Term Time Only About the Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Homework Club Lead to join our team at the Children and Family Hub. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people during after-school homework sessions, helping them to reach their potential in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. As Homework Club Lead, you will prepare engaging learning materials, support children with their schoolwork, and encourage participation in a range of activities. You will also work closely with families and colleagues to promote learning, wellbeing, and inclusion. Key Responsibilities Under the direction of the Head of Centre and/or Extended Services and Partnership Lead, you will: Lead and support children and young people during after-school homework sessions. Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Encourage participation and promote confidence and achievement. Prepare learning materials and set up the learning space before each session. Work alongside families to support individual learning needs. Promote the services and activities offered by the Children and Family Hub. Ensure registers and relevant documentation are completed accurately. Maintain high standards of behaviour, responding to incidents in line with Hub policies. Follow safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection policies at all times. Contribute to the overall ethos, values, and aims of the Children and Family Hub. About You: We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people. You will be positive, motivated, and committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment. Essential Requirements: Experience of working with children and young people in an educational or similar setting. Qualified to Level 3 NVQ in Education or equivalent. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive relationships with children, young people, and families. Strong organisational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection guidance. Calm, resilient, and adaptable under pressure.
