The lawn maintenance operations manager is a working manager position that will require a manager to have both office and field responsibilities. Manager hours will be based on the time of the year and the current workload. Normal hours of operation are Monday thru Thursday 7:00 am to 6:00/6:30 pm. This does change based on weather, time of year, and other factors. We do work some Saturdays, but try to keep them limited.
The lawn maintenance operations manager/training manager is responsible for the following items, but not limited to just these items.
Manage day-to-day operations of lawn maintenance crews starting at 7 am each day until all crews are back in shop to include crew assignments, supervisor assignments, vacations, paperwork, requests.
Address team members' disciplinary matters- based on the company handbook.
Work with crews to create efficiency in the maintenance area.
Meet crews on site to show them new properties- include special notes from customers, property lines
Meet crews onsite to do field training, quality control, customer requests
Creating requests for equipment, materials, and other items for the department
Work with crews on man-hour budgets
Understanding expectations on man-hour budget
Monitoring crew budgets, equipment repairs, small tools needs
Responsible for interviewing and selecting new team members for the department
Manage customer relations with current and new customers to include the following:
Upsell customers on new services that the company is offering
Quality control inspections on properties each week to make sure the company is providing quality service to customers
Meeting with customers in their yard to help them make decisions, better practices, etc.
Handling customer concerns and issues
May require an on-site visit with the crew
Responsible for working with other managers to maximize the effectiveness of company assets.
The manager will assist with selling new customers to include lawn maintenance, specialty services, pine straw, mulch, planting, etc.
Responsible for routing crews each day, moving routes, seasonal calendars
Responsible for making sure all services all billed weekly as completed
Responsible for monitoring department budget and monitoring key metrics for the department.

Responsible for monitoring GPS tracking on trucks to make sure crews are not wasting time, using effective routes, not taking long lunches, and stealing time/resources
Training Manager:
Help develop and implement a training program for the company working with managers to help develop top-quality employees.
Training materials
Training Videos- working with videographer to create good quality content
Setting up classes during certain times of the year to train new employees. Classes set up for current employees in different departments
Help create an evaluation program to monitor employee’s improvement and help direct that towards advancement on pay
Help develop and implement any other training materials needed for the company departments
Look for outside training when needed for employees and management to better their skills in the areas of the business.
Do hands-on training with new and current employees at the shop and on job sites to include topics:
- Safety
- Proper operations
- Equipment inspections
