Summary:
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the IT network infrastructure of Spirit IT Solutions. This role ensures the availability, performance, and security of the company’s networks and works closely with other IT teams to meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Design and Implementation:
Design and deploy functional networks, including LAN, WAN, and wireless systems.
Configure and install network hardware (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
Manage network-related projects to meet technical and business requirements.
Network Maintenance and Monitoring:
Monitor network performance and ensure high levels of uptime and reliability.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues promptly.
Conduct routine maintenance, including patch updates and hardware replacements.
Security and Compliance:
Implement network security measures to protect data and infrastructure.
Monitor and mitigate network vulnerabilities and threats.
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) and industry standards.
Collaboration and Documentation:
Work with IT and development teams to optimize network performance.
Create and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, processes, and changes.
Provide technical support and training to staff as needed.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
Research and recommend new networking technologies and solutions.
Evaluate and integrate cloud-based networking systems as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
Strong understanding of network infrastructure and hardware.
Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and related network equipment.
Proficiency in network troubleshooting and analysis tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or equivalent.
Experience with network virtualization and cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python) for network automation.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Excellent understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary Range:
