Job Summary:
Coaches are responsible for leading and supporting student-athletes in their athletic and personal development. Coaches are expected to create a safe, respectful, and positive environment that promotes teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and academic success. This role involves active supervision of athletes during practices, games, and travel, as well as responsibility for athletic equipment and uniforms.
Responsibilities:
* Supervise student-athletes at all times during practices, games, and transportation to and from events.
* Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters the physical and emotional development of all athletes.
* Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating integrity, leadership, and strong character on and off the field.
* Ensure proper maintenance, storage, and inventory of uniforms, gear, and other equipment.
* Teach fundamental skills, strategies, and sportsmanship appropriate to the age and ability level of student-athletes.
* Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school staff, and administration.
* Follow all school, district, and league policies and procedures.
* Encourage academic achievement and monitor athletes’ academic progress when applicable.
* Promote teamwork, respect, and a commitment to excellence.
* Head Coaches report the Athletic Director and/or Principal
* Assistant Coaches report the Athletic Director and/or Principal and the Head Coach
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Previous coaching or playing experience in the assigned sport is preferred
* Ability to obtain all required coaching certifications and clearances (First Aid/CPR, required WIAA trainings, background check, etc.)
* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
