Must be able to design alloys which facilitate castings per customer specifications. Must conduct failure analyses and perform investigations as needed. Facilitates production to ensure quality castings. Monitors and expedites test samples to meet deadlines. Facilitates salvage of castings which fail to meet required properties. Determine causes of casting failure. Writes technical report of failure analysis. Evaluate work performance and counsel employees to maintain efficient work performance. Maintain close observation over operations, providing guidance and training to employees concerning proper methods. Analyze equipment or machine problems, quality problems, and production delays. Work with all departments to ensure metal meets customer specifications. Enforce company policy and departmental practices. Leads and makes decisions which align with the corporate vision and strategy based on the principles of safety awareness, product quality, preventative maintenance, productivity, and continuous improvement. Must possess a BS degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field. Previous ductile iron foundry experience preferred.
