As a metallurgist you will be responsible for the implementation, progress and completion of the improvement projects to be set up for a specific group of key parts. These are parts that are vital in terms of the performance and functionality of our Marel machines.
Your work from day to day would include:
As a metallurgist you will have and develop a usable network so that you can keep up to date with all the latest developments and trends. You will be the reference point for all Marel companies for material related questions; you will give advice regarding the design and implementation of constructions and choice of materials. You will also pass on your knowledge to colleagues, for example by organising workshops.

- Standardisation of the current product package in the field of materials, geometry etc...
- The independent carrying out of inspections and research plans and doing work preparations. The examinations and tests that must be thought of are focused on innovation and process improvement and consist of mechanical research, corrosion tests, material analyses and other material specialist investigations. Where necessary, you may outsource parts of an inspection or investigation (such as laboratory work), both internally and externally;
- Producing test parts;
- Interpreting and documenting the research results, formulating opinions and presenting and reporting the results;
- Monitoring the progress, costs and quality of the projects;
