The Mechanical Project Engineer is part of the Project Engineering team with responsibility for the design, procurement , installation and maintenance of products and equipment supporting the continued and sustained development and improvement of site manufacturing suite.
Key Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Research and evaluate customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
- Design and specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
- Research, design, evaluate, procure, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
- Conduct research and testing to evaluate the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems.
- Recommend design modifications having identified the real root cause to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
- Perform personnel functions, such as supervision of technicians during project work and design of evaluation programs.
- Ensures budgets, timescales and specifications of projects are agreed with the project engineering manager.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Proficient in CAD and MS Office
- Proven track record in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally and as part of a team
- Analytical and good problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence and lead teams
