Design and develop firefighting and plumbing systems for various projects. Prepare mechanical drawings, layouts, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD and other design software. Conduct hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and pressure loss analysis to ensure efficient system performance. Select and specify fire protection equipment (sprinklers, pumps, extinguishers) and plumbing fixtures based on project requirements. Ensure compliance with NFPA, ASHRAE, IPC, and other relevant codes and standards. Perform site inspections, testing, and commissioning to verify system performance. Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to mechanical system design and operation. Prepare technical reports, BOQs, and material specifications for procurement and installation. Stay updated with new technologies, materials, and best practices in firefighting and plumbing engineering. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 5+ years of experience in mechanical design with a focus on firefighting and plumbing systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculation software (such as Elite Fire or Pipe Flow Expert). Strong knowledge of fire protection standards (NFPA, FM Global, UL, LPCB) and plumbing regulations (IPC, UPC). Experience in designing fire suppression systems, wet and dry risers, pumps, and water distribution networks. Familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Professional certification (e.g., NFPA certification, PMP) is a plus.
