Duties and Responsibilities
Teach a range of advanced mathematics courses, including AP and dual-enrollment sections.
- Design and implement curriculum using the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework to promote enduring understanding and mastery of key mathematical concepts.
- Employ student-centered, inquiry-based, and project-based learning methodologies that encourage exploration, collaboration, and critical thinking.
- Develop and use authentic assessments that measure both conceptual understanding and the application of mathematical ideas to real-world contexts.
- Integrate technology and digital tools meaningfully into instruction to enhance engagement and support diverse learners.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom culture where all students are challenged and empowered to succeed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects, align curriculum across grade levels, and share best practices in teaching and learning.
- Embrace a growth mindset.
- Communicate effectively and proactively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues to support student growth and success.
- Participate actively in the life of the school, including weekend supervision duties (8 days per year) and involvement in extracurricular programs.

Knowledge, Experience, Education, and Competencies
- Master’s in mathematics or related field is required.
- 2+ years of experience in teaching or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Cultivate problem-solving skills using real-world scenarios, guiding students to reason abstractly and quantitatively.
- Student-centered, dynamic educator who uses a variety of instructional approaches.
- Proven track record of success with student achievement at the Upper School level.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish solid positive working relationships
- Ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information with the highest ethical standards and meticulous attention to detail.
- Prefer private, boarding school experience and be excited about the challenges and rewards of working in such an environment.
