Impulse Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Materials Manager for the stores Department for a large company based in Athlone  Co Westmeath

This is a Full Time Permanent position and a great opportunity to join a large team

Reports to: Stores and Fleet Manager are seeking an experienced Materials Manager within the Telecoms industry to manage the supply of materials through to the end user

The role requires collaboration with other managers and contractors to monitor material usage in the field and to produce periodic reporting to identify re-order levels, utilisation of any over stocks and identification of any gains / losses.

 The Material manager should have excellent organisational skills with a Strong Supply Chain background with emphasis on maximising the utilisation of people and equipment with a strong focus on systems implementation and cost reduction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Stores & Fleet manager you will assist with formulating a strategy to identify new site locations countrywide to keep internal crews and contractors supplied with materials in close proximity to where they are working.
  • Working closely with the project teams you will arrange for drawdown of the free issue material BOM from the customer and liaise directly with suppliers to arrange delivery of materials to various locations countrywide.
  • Participate in the stock inventory processes to identify stock re-order levels and utilisation of any surplus materials.
  • Produce material variation reports for the drawdown of additional materials identified from the update of the ArcGIS system (geographical mapping data)
  • Participate in periodic stocktakes to report on the physical stock stored in all contractor locations, identify closing stock position vs material usage data.
  • Keep daily contact with internal crews and contractors to discuss any material deficits identified, resulting from materials issued to them and material usage submitted by them.
  • Develop and provide training to crews for use of mobile apps for reporting weekly stock-takes submitted by them and clash with material usage data provided by ArcGIS. .
  • Working closely with the DA Managers and FLM’s you will identify material wastage and reduce with particular emphasis on the maximisation of the appropriate fibre cable lengths.
  • Collaborate with the build design team to identify any improvements to the material usage logic. ➢ Manage the procurement of company owned consumables, negotiate best prices and terms. Find regionalised suppliers for Stores operations countrywide for access by crews. Reduce supplier material lead-times.
  • Participate in the upkeep and participate in the audits of the quality assurance system. Keep supplier list updated.
  • Participate in new projects to support the Stores & fleet manager by setting goals and objectives.

  • Proven Experience as a Materials Manager.
  • Proven Experience with Supply Chain and Inventory Management Systems.
  • Excellent Organisational Skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  •  Proficient in MS Office.
  •  A problem-solver.
