We are partnering with a leading Financial Institution's Capital Markets division to find a dedicated Market Data Associate to join a highly specialized and vital team in Toronto. This permanent, front-facing role involves administering the critical market intelligence used across the Capital Markets unit, handling the vast majority of the firm's market data resources. You will be the primary liaison between internal trading and back-office teams and external data vendors, ensuring cost-efficient data access, compliance, and strategic alignment with global business objectives.

The Associate will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of market data resources:
Contract Management & Cost Control
•Timely manage all market data-related contracts.
•Negotiate optimal terms and fees to achieve savings and cost avoidance goals.
•Drive cost optimization initiatives through vendor rationalization, contract restructuring, and usage audits.
Business Support & Vendor Engagement
•Act as a primary communication point for internal managers and external market data suppliers.
•Provide tailored market data solutions to all levels of the business, from the front office to the back office.
•Manage supplier relationships by engaging regularly to review requirements, issues, and changes.
•Ensure all market data suppliers adhere to the firm's supplier management standards and business continuity requirements, coordinating with Legal, Finance, and Risk teams.
Product Research & Industry Intelligence
•Seek out new market data sources and solutions to meet evolving business needs.
•Research industry trends and provide guidance on alternative services or regulatory changes impacting market data (familiarity with data providers like S&P is beneficial).
•Participate in industry forums and evaluate new market data products to provide strategic recommendations for the Enterprise.
Analytics & Reporting
•Produce ad-hoc and recurring detailed reports and presentation decks.
•Provide value-added commentary and analysis on market data spend, trends, and key updates to senior stakeholders.
Qualifications
•Experience: Candidates must possess relevant experience in the Capital Markets industry.
•Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with market intelligence, research, and data from major providers.
