Job Summary:
The Accounting and Finance Manager will be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. This role requires a strong understanding of e-commerce business models, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to provide strategic financial insights to support the company's rapid growth and profitability.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in accordance with GAAP/TFRS.
- Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to management, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Present financial results and recommendations to senior leadership.
Accounting Operations:
- Manage all accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, inventory accounting, and payroll.
- Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Manage multi-currency transactions and foreign exchange exposure, if applicable.
Cash Management:
- Manage daily cash flow, optimize working capital, and ensure adequate liquidity.
- Develop and implement strategies for efficient cash utilization.
Tax & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations (e.g., sales tax, income tax, import/export duties).
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Stay updated on relevant accounting standards and regulatory changes.
Team Leadership:
- Potentially build and mentor a small finance team as the company grows.
- Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification preferred.
- 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in an e-commerce or retail trading environment is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of inventory management and cost accounting principles in an e-commerce context.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with payment gateways, online marketplaces, and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Amazon, Lazada, Shopee).
- Solid knowledge of GAAP/TFRS.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
