KH108 - Full-Time Indian Cuisine Chef - West Hills, CA

Overview

A kind and easy-going family in the West Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles is seeking a full-time cook/chef to start ASAP. The family eats a majority  Indian-focused diet and enjoy high-quality, ingredient-forward meals. The schedule will be Monday through Friday, there is flexibility in exact hours for the right candidate. Typically the cook would arrive late morning and prepare food for the family to heat later. The family consists of two adults and two children but for the summer, it will only be cooking for one adult. 

Responsibilities

• Cooking for two adults and two children (for the summer, cooking will just be for one adult)
• Batch-cooking easy breakfasts would be appreciated

• Grocery shopping including farmer's market and restocking of the pantry. 

• Keeping the kitchen tidy and cleaning up before leaving. The chef will not be expected to serve the food and can leave after cleaning up. 
• The chef will be expected to send the week's menu the week before so the principals can advise on any changes.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate is clean, tidy, and easy-going. The family is thoughtful and kind, so they hope to find a chef matching that energy.
• One of the principals works from home so knowing how to navigate around that is essential 

Requirements

• Must have familiarity with Indian cuisine and cooking
• Within commuting distance from West Hills, this position is not open to candidates looking to relocate
• Legal to work in the US

Salary and Benefits

Compensation is flexible depending on experience. The client is open to hourly or daily rates. Hourly rate will start at $40
