Role Overview

As the Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing sales in Key Accounts to meet revenue, profit, and volume goals outlined in the company's strategic business plans. Collaborating closely with the Commercial Excellence Manager, you will oversee Key Account management activities, including negotiations, contract management, and performance tracking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Key Account Management: Achieve targeted NSR, volume, and NSR/UC of designated customers, managing credit, sales orders, deliveries, and commercial deals.
  • Contract Negotiations: Negotiate contracts with designated customers in line with commercial policy and approved budgets to ensure execution of targeted MSL and PICOS standards.
  • Performance Tracking: Regularly track performance and implementation of contracted counter performances, taking necessary actions in case of deviations.
  • Customer Reviews: Conduct performance analyses and reviews with customers on a quarterly basis to ensure alignment with set plans and identify further opportunities.
  • Activity Implementation: Negotiate and implement planned activities as per brands and customer activity calendar to drive sales and brand visibility.
  • Business Planning: Prepare annual Customer Business Plans based on strategies shared by the Commercial Excellence Manager and Marketing department, updating the plan regularly and sharing internally as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

  • Sales Experience: Previous experience in Sales Management is required.
  • Sector Knowledge: Knowledge of the FMCG sector is desirable.
  • Commercial Flair: Must possess a commercial flair with a strong understanding of market and trade dynamics.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong planning, organisational, and analytical skills to identify improvements and implement initiatives effectively.
  • Numerical Literacy: Ability to analyse and understand numbers, as well as forecasting, is essential.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Good problem-solving skills to address challenges and drive solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Professionalism: A diligent and well-presented individual who is driven and results-oriented.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Language Skills: Native level of Maltese and professional level of English is required.
  • Driving License: Must possess a clean driving license.
