About the job
Irrigation Technician must be able to do monthly walkthroughs on all irrigated properties to evaluate system and make sure it is operating effectively and repair as needed. Have working knowledge of backflows, wired and wireless systems, familiar with Rainbird products. Able to diagnose electrical issues on a 2-wire and multi-strand system. Technician must be able to communicate effectively with Supervisor and document all work performed. Able to install irrigation systems on new construction as well as existing properties. At least 2 years experience required, please submit any certifications or education that you have received for irrigation.
Responsibilities:
- Repair irrigation systems to perform properly
- Install irrigation as needed
- Load and unload heavy equipment, tools as needed
- Schedule and monitor daily work loads
- Plan, coordinate, and collect equipment and materials each day
- Attend and participate in crew and department general and safety meetings
- Prepare timesheets and other daily paperwork as required by the company
- Safe driving of company owned vehicles trucks (with or without trailers) and transporting crew members
- Maintain on site relations and communications with clients, contractors and/or subcontractors and internal customers
- Diagnose & repair controllers
- Maintain inventory for service vehicle
- Help in other divisions such as installation or floriculture as needed
- Help with snow removal during the winter months
Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
- Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns and other environmental risks
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must wear work boots, TerraVista landscaping uniforms and present yourself in a clean and polite manner
- Must practice safety with chemicals and equipment
- Must wear eye and ear protection as required
- Must have valid NC Driver's License and maintain a good driving record (CDL preferred)
- Must have good communication skills and ability to motivate others
- Must comply with TerraVista's policies and procedures
