Head of Finance- £550 a day- Winchester- 6 months contract

Are you looking for a new opportunity? My client has released an exciting chance to join their team as Head of Finance to Lead and direct the delivery of financial support and services across the group of companies or within the business unit to enable the achievement of commercial goals.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of management accounting , reporting and commentary for all revenue generating Business Units. Deliver financial support and services to the Terrestrial Broadcast, Telecoms & M2M, and Satellite & Media Business Units (BU) as business partner. Key interfaces include BU FDs and teams, other Group finance functions, and the wider FP&A team Heads of Finance.
Deliver finance support and services in terms of accurate, timely and insightful reporting of Actuals, budget and Forecast financial performance, providing insight into forward trends, risks and opportunities arising, and pro active, action orientated advice re actions required to address or improve performance.
Support BU Commercial Finance team in accounting, forecasting and reporting of Revenue, Gross Margin, Opex incl labour and headcount costs, Ebitda, Cash. Provision of ad hoc analysis. Preparation of annual BU budgets, working closely with BU teams.
Liaise with the Corporate Costs team to ensure full transparency and understanding of key cost trends as they impact Business Units
Provide independent, constructive challenge and support to drive BU financial performance.
Support challenge and business partner business leaders to ensure effective financial decision making
Manage and develop a team of 7, developing a high performing team that meets the future needs of the business and providing support, guidance and direction to resolve issues. Ensure delivery of all departmental objectives, and the team are motivated and engaged. Drive and deliver improvement in team engagement (measured by annual Gallup survey)
Provision of standardised approach to reporting format and process across BUs, to drive efficiency, optimise capacity and resource, and share best practice to improve overall quality.
Ensure transparency of FF savings and costs to track and monitor delivery of strategic cost targets and profitability.
Ensure financial reporting compliance with accounting policy, highlighting and addressing issues arising with BU finance teams, FP&A and FCC
– Support the preparation of Regulatory accounts for Terrestrial Broadcast BU (led by FCC), by ensuring the maintenance of cost allocation methodologies between Corporate and the BU, and appropriate governance in place to ensure compliance and integrity of data and a clean regulatory audit.
. Support any internal or external audit requirements, relating to the BU’s (overall process led by FCC).
Support to the BUs in respect of any corporate acquisitions/disposals, operational re-organisations, new contracts, to ensure adequate reporting and controls are established.

Essential Qualifications:
Degree educated
Qualified Accountant 10 years+
Good communicator, interpersonal skills. Gravitas to persuade and influence.
Significant experience in similar roles, in central finance teams, ideally in TMT sector.
Previous use of Oracle/SAP, Essbase, Hyperion, BI reporting tools is
