Overview
The Kew-Forest School is a co-educational independent day school located in Forest Hills, Queens, New York that serves a diverse population of approximately 225 students in Preschool (3-year-olds) through Grade 12. Founded in 1918, Kew-Forest is the longest-serving college preparatory school in Queens. Our community nurtures lifelong learners, our educators inspire young people, and our students support each other.
The School is currently looking for a Girls’ Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach for the upcoming winter season, starting November 1st. The winter season is scheduled to consist of 10-14. (Not including postseason) Kew-Forest participates in the Private School Athletic Association (PSAA). This season we are independent.
Candidates should:
- be available between the hours of 3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. for practice and as early as 2:00 p.m. for travel to away games.
- be available to travel on the bus with student-athletes to away games.
Responsibilities
- assist with practices (minimum 5 times/week; max 2 hours each).
- teaching/guiding student-athletes in proper basketball techniques/strategy.
- assist with keeping attendance and communicating with the team, parents, and Athletic Director with any changes/cancellations of practices and games.
- attending any team events/outings. (e.g Jaguars Night Out)
- responsible for completing required course upon hire (e.g, CPR, mandated reporter, etc)
Compensation:
A stipend between $1,800 - $2,800 will be offered based on experience.
