About the job
Clayton Early Childhood Center is seeking an educator with experience and passion for the education of young children. Our preschool classrooms have between 14-18 children enrolled and we are seeking full-time educators to support the classroom team.
Teacher Assistants collaborate with Lead Teachers to implement developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests and needs, help maintain proper supervision and ratio, and build strong relationships with students in their care. Teacher Assistants are an intricate part of the classroom, ensuring children are safe and receiving high-quality early childhood services.
Clayton Early Childhood Center, located in Oak Knoll Park and is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Duties
· Engage in active supervision to ensure the safety of all children
· Care for each child’s needs
· Support the implementation of the Creative Curriculum through developmentally appropriate activities by engaging children in learning
· Change diapers, encourage self-help, and model appropriate behaviors
· Assist in maintaining room cleanliness and organization
· Able to support all age groups as needed
Requirements
· Works well with others, good communication, both oral and written
· Basic computer/technology skills
· Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, use stairs, and get up and down from the floor frequently
· Must pass background check, fingerprinting, child abuse and neglect registry, and drug screening
· Obtain physical and TB test
Nice To Haves
· Knowledge and experience working with young children in a childcare setting
· Certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid
· CDA in Infant, Toddler or Preschool, Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
