Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Analyst with strong analytical skills and a passion for working with data to join our Claims Finance team. In this role, you will collaborate with various finance units, including underwriting, and actuarial departments, to support a wide range of financial projects and processes. You will play a critical role in analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to improve operational performance.
In addition to traditional financial analysis, this role emphasizes leveraging data to build tools and automate processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical skillset, including experience with data analysis, reporting, and automation tools, to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency. This position also involves significant interaction with other departments, including Human Resources and Finance, to support budgeting, planning, and forecasting for the North America Claims organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze financial data, including personnel expenses, headcount, turnover, and other HR metrics, to identify trends, patterns, and cost drivers.
- Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for claims operations.
- Evaluate variances between actual and budgeted expenses, providing insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Budgeting, Planning, and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation and consolidation of budget templates, incorporating historical data, organizational changes, and business drivers.
- Support the Chubb North America Claims Annual Operating Plan process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
- Data Analysis & Tool Development:
- Leverage advanced data analysis techniques to evaluate the financial impact of claims initiatives and support strategic decision-making.
- Build and maintain tools, models, and dashboards to automate data collection, reporting, and analysis processes.
- Use tools such as Excel (advanced functions), SQL, Python, or R to manipulate and analyze large datasets.
- Develop and implement automation solutions to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify inefficiencies in current processes and recommend innovative solutions to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Pre-Requisition Evaluation:
- Review and analyze Pre-Requisition requests to ensure alignment with the company’s criteria and strategic objectives.
- Special Projects:
- Support ad hoc financial analyses, scenario modeling, and other special projects as required.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to drive business improvements and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field.
- Up to 2 years of experience in finance, auditing, or related coursework.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of insurance concepts, practices, and procedures is desirable.
