Financial Accountant

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join their finance team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with the relevant laws and accounting principles, and providing reliable financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
This role is based in Hartbeespoort, North West.
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage financial records and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
• Prepare accurate financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Assess and analyze departmental budgets to identify opportunities for cost optimization and improved profitability.
• Ensure that attendance is recorded daily on the ERS system.
• Prepare and submit tax returns in compliance with tax regulations.
• Maintain and update asset registers monthly, ensuring that they are signed off.
• Support management with financial reporting and decision-making through accurate and timely reporting.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 7 years proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar finance role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (Excel is essential).
• Analytical mindset, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
