Joby Overview

Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. Since 2009, our team has worked steadily to make this dream a reality. We’ve designed and tested many generations of prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service.

We are seeking a highly motivated Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager to support the day-to-day operations of the EH&S team, assist with health and safety demands of our workforce, and contribute to the application of effective EH&S management by providing administrative tasks, technical support, and field work assistance such as safety walkthroughs, environmental audits, collecting samples, conducting trainings, and coordinating meetings. This effort will enhance internal /external customer satisfaction, ensure regulatory compliance, improve employee morale, and achieve the company’s strategic business development goals. The EH&S Manager will work in close collaboration with various departments and is expected to have exceptional presentation skills and professional judgment, as well as be self-motivated and work with considerable independence. This individual must have a positive attitude, be self-managed, and have the ability to scale with a fast-growing company. • Establish and oversee EHS training programs (HAZCOM, confined space, ergonomics, electrical safety, respiratory protection, etc.), ensuring training is effective, accessible, and meets regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and support site Safety Committees, promoting workforce engagement and accountability in safety initiatives.

  • Provide direction for incident investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring lessons learned are communicated and corrective actions are completed.
  • Monitor, track, and report EHS performance metrics, leveraging data to identify trends, drive improvements, and report results to leadership.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Visual Management, Kaizen) to integrate safety into operational excellence.
  • Manage and support cross-functional EHS projects and initiatives, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and aligned with Joby’s strategic objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop EHS staff, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
