About the job
DESCRIPTION
At Audible, we believe stories have the power to transform lives. It’s why we work with some of the world’s leading creators to produce and share audio storytelling with our millions of global listeners. We are dreamers and inventors who come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences to empower and inspire each other. Imagine your future with us.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Audible is actively seeking a talented economist to join our team. Economists at Audible play a critical role in driving success for the business, and also work to raise the bar for Amazon’s broader science/economics community. Our team of economists and data scientists tackles a wide range of questions, including pricing, experimentation science, data-driven product strategy/optimizations, internal productivity/incentives, audience science, and impact/ROI measurement. The ideal candidate will excel at (and enjoy) wearing many hats, and be able to effectively translate business questions into tractable science problems, dive deep into data for analytical insights, and represent the team in a range of settings - from reviews with senior Amazon scientists to reviews with senior Audible/Amazon business leaders. We are open to candidates from a range of fields/backgrounds (including both structural modeling and reduced-form causal inference). If you are passionate about leveraging economic insights to shape the future of digital media, we encourage you to apply and be a part of our dynamic team.
As an Economist, you will...
- Utilize rigorous economic thinking and econometric methods to provide data-driven recommendations
- Design and analyze experiments and quasi experimental analyses
- Collaborate with scientists at Audible and Amazon to build econometric models and develop scalable solutions to complex problems
- Partner with diverse teams at Audible, including executives, content, product, marketing, and finance, to leverage data-driven insights and economic theory to shape the direction of strategic initiatives
- Raise the bar for science/economics work, both within Audible and across the broader Amazon community
