The Director of Technology is an administrative position that reports to the School Director and is an educational leader at the school. The Director of Technology develops the long-term technology vision that ties directly to the AES School Mission. The Director will oversee a team of 10 staff members who support and manage all technology program areas. In addition, the Director serves as the K-12 Educational Technology Department head. Attributes, Qualifications and Experience-An advanced degree in educational technology (preferred) and a demonstrated commitment to continued professional learning. -Ability to analyze performance problems and create solution sets, a strong work ethic; high ethical standards; self-motivated, and good time-management skills.-Interpersonal skills, especially being a good listener, skills in written, electronic, and oral communications; administrative skills.-Appropriate skills in teaching students as well as teachers and other adults. Knowledge of curriculum, curriculum development, progressive pedagogy, and assessment. -Technical knowledge in the fields of technology education, and the broad range of technologies used in educational environments. -Substantial experience in working with teachers in the integration of instructional technology. -Knowledge of teaching and learning theory as they relate to the roles of technology in content and pedagogy.-Knowledge of data privacy and protection (required) and the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (preferred) The American Embassy School is an inclusive school.
