THE ROLE
Fund Administration and Financial Operations
- Support all aspects of fund accounting, firm accounting, budgeting, reporting, and compliance in collaboration with the CFO, external administrators, and auditors.
- Partner with investment teams on deal execution, portfolio monitoring, and capital disbursements.
- Prepare quarterly portfolio company valuations (in accordance with ASC-820), analyze complex capital structures, and ensure rigor in every financial decision.
- Manage fund liquidity and credit lines, including capital call strategy and forecasting.
- Provide critical insights on fund performance, returns, and portfolio health.
Strategic Financial Planning
- Partner with the CFO to craft financial forecasts, budgets, and investor reporting.
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to firm leadership, influencing decisions that drive our growth.
- Identify and implement smarter systems and processes across finance and operations.
- Take ownership of special projects for the firm that cross finance, legal, operations, and investor communications.
Manage Key Relationships
- Act as liaison with auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel, and investors.
- Handle investor inquiries and deliverables with polish and professionalism.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Experience & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with top-tier academic results.
- 5–7 years of professional experience—including 3–5 years in startup, VC, PE, fund administration, public accounting (Big 4 or equivalent), or investment banking. CPA or CFA certification preferred.
- Deep hands-on experience with financial reporting and capital operations, with exposure to fund structures and accounting a strong plus.
- Advanced abilities in financial modeling, spreadsheet analytics, with experience in valuation techniques a strong plus.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, with comfort engaging with leadership, founders, and external partners.
- Experience with enterprise financial software (we use Carta, Airtable, and Syft).
