Job Summary

Data Scientist - Onsite in Urbandale, IA (preferred) or Austin, TX.

Role Overview

  • Join a team leveraging large-scale datasets to develop advanced analytics and models for intelligent, automated agricultural equipment.
  • Collaborate with product managers and data engineers to design, scale, and deliver full-stack data science solutions.
  • Apply innovative technology to solve global agricultural challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate findings and methodologies effectively to stakeholders with diverse backgrounds.
  • Develop and test predictive models using high-resolution machine and agronomic data.
  • Deliver production-ready machine learning solutions to extract insights from precision agriculture data.
  • Define, quantify, and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to customer success.
  • Partner with Data Engineering teams to ensure efficient data storage and analytics support.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in developing production-ready models using object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Python).
  • Experience with data access technologies (e.g., SQL, Spark, Databricks).
  • Skilled in visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Kepler.gl).
  • Proficient in data modeling techniques (normalization, data quality assessment, attribute analysis, etc.).
  • Experience in building machine learning models (regression, supervised/unsupervised learning, probabilistic inference, NLP, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred/Standout Skills

  • Experience with geospatial data analysis, geo-indexing, and working with vector/raster data.
  • Familiarity with remote sensing, GIS tools, and satellite imagery analysis.
  • Knowledge of computer vision and machine learning (CVML) and advanced AI techniques.
  • Portfolio of professional work (publications, patents, project work).
  • Experience with distributed datasets and varied data structures (time-series, geo-tagged, text, structured/unstructured).
  • Proficiency in additional programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Scala, etc.).
  • Background in simulations (Monte Carlo, Gibbs sampling).
  • Experience with model validation, bias, and drift measurement.
  • Ability to translate complex analytical insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration experience with cross-functional teams (Product, Sales, Finance, etc.).

  • Location: Onsite in Urbandale, IA (preferred) or Austin, TX.
  • Duration: 12-month contract.
  • Must attend video screening and provide photo ID.
