The headquarters of the AXA Group (GIE AXA) brings together our corporate activities. It provides guidance and support to subsidiaries around the world, to ensure the coordination and monitoring of the Group's global strategy, the application of its standards, the consistency of commercial approaches and the sharing of best practices. The headquarters gathers approximately 1000 employees and is distinguished by its strong international culture (45 nationalities), which makes it a rich and stimulating place to work.

 

The Group Ceded Reinsurance department, part of the Group Underwriting Office at GIE AXA, has the following missions:

 

  • Define the reinsurance strategy for the AXA Group.
  • Analyze the risks of the covered portfolios.
  • Protect the balance sheet of the Group's entities.
  • Secure the insurance operations of the Group's subsidiaries.
  • Implement solutions that optimize the Group's internal capacities and risk transfers to external markets.

 

Within the Group Ceded Re, you will join the Operations department in charge of the support of AXA Group Underwriting activities from placement, claims to technical accounting.

 

Within this Department, you will be part of the Data and Transversal Operations team, in charge of managing data and business processes for ceded reinsurance through innovative decision-support tools and reporting. The team is also in charge of data quality/governance topics.

 

 

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSABILITIES:

 

 

The Data Analyst plays a key role in the Data team by leveraging technical expertise in data science and reinsurance processes to optimize placements and operations for AXA Group Ceded Re.

 

With in-depth knowledge of processes such as placement, technical and general accounting, claims, and data quality, the Data Analyst ensures timely and accurate data delivery and serves as a primary contact for process improvement initiatives contributing actively to the BU’s transformation projects. Additionally, the Data Analyst collaborates with external stakeholders like GPM, GRM, AXA SA RM, Finance, AXA GO, and AXA XL Ceded Re team.

 

Main responsibilities: 

  • Production of indicators and reports necessary for the placement processes, technical accounting, and claims management under the supervision of the manager.
  • Ensuring the reliability of databases and controlling the quality of data entry in ACTOR and WebXL.
  • Preparation of documents for communication with reinsurers, in advance of meetings such as Monte Carlo or Baden-Baden.
  • Development of dashboards for activity management and monitoring (premium budgets, claims registration, and settlement of balances).
  • Performing data extractions, analyses, and ad hoc studies to improve actuarial modeling work in pricing or reserving, based on placement or accounting data.
  • Leading working groups to improve reporting processes with the support of the manager.
  • Assisting in defining needs, specifying functional requirements for business requests, and organizing testing and validation activities.
  • Active participation in the technical migration of reinsurance databases.
  • Identifying actions or levers for process improvement through data analysis.

 

YOUR PROFILE

 

Technical Skills:

  • Good knowledge in data science and business intelligence (BI).
  • Good knowledge in data management and database modeling.
  • Good knowledge of BI concepts and ETL/ELT tools.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages related to statistics and database management (R, Python, SQL, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Data Visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
  • Knowledge of collaborative data science platforms like Dataiku, Databricks, Git.
  • Awareness of data quality management issues.

 

Transversal Skills:

  • Curiosity, interest in business challenges, and the reinsurance sector.
  • Strong passion for data analysis, results-oriented, with a customer service mindset.
  • Analytical and synthesis skills, interest in new technologies.
  • Ability to lead and share knowledge.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and translate business requests into relevant data products.
  • Good interpersonal skills (communication with different stakeholders).

 

Professional Experience:

  • 2 years of experience in a Data related role (incl. internship/apprenticeship), ideally with a successful background in reinsurance.
