Cyber Security Engineer

My client is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer with experience in an IAM/PAM function. A minimum of 3 years experience is required to join their organisation based in Cork. This is a permanent role.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents across networks, endpoints, and cloud environments.
  
  
• Develop and maintain security tools and automations using Python.
  
  
• Perform vulnerability assessments and work with engineering teams to remediate risks.
  
  
• Contribute to the design and implementation of security controls, policies, and best practices.
  
  
• Investigate and analyze potential security breaches and provide root cause analysis.
  
  
• Support compliance efforts and security audits.
  
  
• Stay up to date with the latest threats, tools, and techniques in the cybersecurity landscape.

Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in a cybersecurity or security engineering role.
  
  
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
  
  
• Strong understanding of security principles, protocols, and technologies.
  
  
• Experience with threat detection and incident response.
  
  
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
  
  
• Knowledge of vulnerability management and penetration testing tools.
  
  
• Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
