A well-established college in the Cambridge area is seeking a skilled and dedicated Communication Support Worker (CSW) to join its experienced support team. About the Role
As a Communication Support Worker, you will support Deaf and hearing-impaired students across a range of vocational subjects. Working closely with teaching staff, you will assist students in accessing the curriculum, developing their independence, and achieving their full potential.
This is a term-time role within a college setting, providing a vibrant and collaborative working environment with opportunities for continued professional development.
Key Responsibilities

Support the communication needs of Deaf learners using British Sign Language (BSL)

Facilitate access to learning and promote student independence and inclusion

Work alongside teaching staff to support individual learning goals

Assist with student engagement, confidence, and progress
Essential Requirements

British Sign Language (BSL) qualification at Level 3 or the ability to sign fluently at that level

GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Understanding of the needs of Deaf students and/or experience working with learners with SEND

Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a professional, learner-focused approach

Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (this is essential for the role)
