About the job
• Execute sales and operations for Japan from the Tokyo office to drive revenue and meet targets.
• Oversee and deliver strategic vision and sales growth for Japan; ensure successful business operations and compliance with local regulations.
• Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with customers, partners, and internal staff.
• Build, develop, and support a Tokyo-based sales and presales team aligned with company values and vision.
• Manage, structure, and negotiate complex, high-value custom deals with key clients in Utility and Telco markets.
• Use a consistent sales process to build pipeline for new logo capture and contract extensions.
• Forecast bookings and product units; ensure Salesforce is up to date and accurate for all opportunities.
• Target and qualify top global Telco and Utility companies in Japan and design aggressive Go-To-Market plans.
• Drive pipeline development, set targets per sales executive, monitor performance, and take corrective action.
• Prioritize and focus pre-sales efforts; ensure high-quality demonstrations and POCs and sales/pre-sales coordination.
• Maintain senior management contact to key customers; lead critical meetings and negotiations.
• Lead partner development and extend sales activity to indirect channels; install partner management methodologies and controls.
• Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Proven Sales experience with regular overachievement of sales targets at relevant previous employers.
- Thorough understanding of Enterprise Solutions Sales.
- Excellent leadership and management skills.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate team members.
- Ability to manage teams, set strategy, and oversee operations to reach targets.
- Demonstrable experience delivering sales accounts and generating business.
- Comfortable interacting at Executive level.
- Previous experience of working for a global organization and managing in-country entity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training staff, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Experience handling discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field is typical for success in this role.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a high-profile sales/leadership role in a software/manufacturing organization.
- 3-5 years’ experience managing a sales team.
