The Malta office serves a portfolio of international clients investing in or through Malta, with a strong focus on holding companies, e-commerce, banking, shipping, and international trading. By providing a 'one-stop-shop' for accounting, taxation, administration, and advisory services, the team has earned an exceptional reputation for its expertise and personalised approach. 

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Accounting Manager with a strong accounting background to lead and support a growing team of accountants and bookkeepers. The role focuses on managing the delivery of accounting and corporate services to international clients, ensuring compliance with accounting and regulatory requirements, and maintaining high-quality service standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional to grow their career alongside the expanding Malta office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Manage and assist a team of accountants and bookkeepers to deliver services to a portfolio of international clients efficiently and professionally.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate management accounts, annual financial statements, and tax returns.
  • VAT Compliance: Assist clients with the preparation and submission of VAT returns, ensuring all reporting deadlines are met.
  • Client Coordination: Work closely with Client Managers, clients' representatives, and international banks, accounting firms, and legal professionals.
  • Advisory Services: Support clients with various accounting and advisory needs by collaborating with relevant internal teams to provide tailored solutions.
  • Training and Support: Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to team members, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a corporate services firm or a comparable international role.
  • Qualifications: Advanced diploma in accounting or in the process of acquiring a relevant accounting qualification such as ACCA.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with general office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with accounting software is required; familiarity with Xero would be an asset.
  • Language Skills: Advanced proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form. Fluency in Maltese is considered an asset.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to articulate views clearly and professionally while engaging with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Capable of building relationships and collaborating in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and strong attention to detail.
  • Organisational Skills: Highly skilled in prioritising tasks, meeting deadlines, and managing competing demands.
