Coach Enhancement Program Assistant - Salt Lake City, UT
(Part-Time / Seasonal Position)
About LOVB (League One Volleyball):
League One Volleyball (LOVB) is reimagining women's sports. Launched in 2019, our company is a mission-led sports performance, training and media enterprise that will change the game of volleyball in the USA and empower new generations of female athletes.
It is a groundbreaking time for volleyball in the US with our historic triple Olympic Gold medals in Women's Indoor, Beach and Sitting Volleyball. Volleyball is already the #1 most played girls' youth sport. There are 38M current and former players today. Of major sports, it's the only one that is women-first (~90% of players are female). But the volleyball market has been almost entirely missed by traditional sports investors, brands, and media.
LOVB is capturing this opportunity by creating a strong club business, and from that built-in audience and fandom, is creating the best Pro League in the world and a digital ecosystem that will connect all aspects of LOVB. This community-up approach will drive participation and fandom, while enabling greater empowerment for girls and young women living this amazing sport. In this role, you will join a mission-driven, roll-up-your-sleeves team of innovators and builders who have come together to change the paradigm of professional volleyball and women’s sports.
Job Summary:
LOVB’s Coach Enhancement Program invites club, high school, and collegiate coaches to embed with an LOVB Pro team to study world-class training and support daily practice objectives. Coach Enhancement Program employees learn by observing, assisting, and—at staff discretion—participating on court in controlled drills to facilitate training outcomes. This is a professional development experience; employees are not rostered athletes and do not appear in matches.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • On-court facilitation (as needed): Serve, toss, simulate positional play, and assist in small-sided drills at the direction of LOVB Pro team coaches.
  • Practice operations: Support setup and teardown of equipment, manage timing and scoring systems, conduct safety checks, and ensure proper equipment care.
  • Observation and reflection: Capture drill structures, coaching cues, and practice flow; submit a one-page learning summary and three applied takeaways.
  • Film and analytics support: Tag actions, pull clips, and perform simple charting within established workflows.
  • Professional conduct: Uphold athlete focus, confidentiality, and LOVB professional standards at all times.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong on-court presence and clear, professional communication skills.
  • Physical readiness to participate in limited, controlled practice activities.
  • Growth mindset with the ability to give and receive feedback constructively.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining athlete-centered environments and confidentiality.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Volleymetrics or DataVolley systems, current CPR/First Aid certification, and SafeSport (or equivalent) training.
Behavioral Competencies:
  • Demonstrates curiosity and initiative in learning from elite coaching environments.
  • Works collaboratively and respectfully within a high-performance team culture.
  • Maintains composure and adaptability under time pressure and shifting priorities.
  • Embodies LOVB’s values of integrity, excellence, and growth.
Education and Experience:
  • Prior coaching or volleyball experience (club, high school, or collegiate level) strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting training sessions or operations in a team sport environment is a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Hourly, part-time, local minimum wage, seasonal role — approximately 3 hours per practice day. Requires physical activity including limited on-court participation, lifting/moving equipment, and extended standing periods.
  • Travel to the designated practice site required.
Location:
This position is based in Salt Lake City. You must be a local candidate in order to be considered.
