Role

As a Clinical Operations Specialist at SmarterDx, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive chart reviews to support clinical documentation improvement. This role is instrumental in ensuring that our clients receive accurate and high-quality clinical documentation services.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze medical records to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of clinical documentation
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical documentation
  • Understand and apply coding guidelines and regulations to assign appropriate codes to diagnoses and procedures
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to facilitate communication and understanding of clinical documentation requirements
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on documentation and coding guidelines
  • Contribute to process improvement efforts to enhance documentation practices and support efficient and effective healthcare delivery

Your qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare, preferably in a clinical documentation or coding role
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and healthcare documentation requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in health information management, nursing, or a related medical field
  • Professional certification, such as Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC), is preferred but not required.

Your skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret complex medical information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including electronic medical records systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and effective time management practices

Compensation

  • $80K to $100K+ base salary + benefits, upward flexibility based on years of experience
