Civil Engineer

About the job

Our client is currently seeking to fill a Licensed Civil Engineer positions in their Duluth GA, Nashville TN and Knoxville TN offices. Projects will predominantly include municipal, infrastructure, residential and commercial projects across the eastern half of the United States.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with creating engineering plans for land development based on their calculations and any research conducted. They should have experience with Civil3D and be able to utilize strong design skills in order to create visual aids. By utilizing strong organizational and communication skills, this candidate will also have the ability to execute a project based on the criteria outlined.


Responsibilities

  • Meeting with clients to understand their needs and goals for the project
  • Conducting site analyses to identify physical, social, and ecological constraints and opportunities
  • Developing conceptual and detailed design plans using Civil3D and other design apps.
  • Collaborating with other design professionals, to ensure that all aspects of the project are coordinated
  • Coordinating with contractors and other construction professionals to ensure that plans are implemented correctly and on schedule
  • Participating in meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to present designs and address questions and concerns
  • Managing budgets and schedules for projects
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members
  • To be successful in this role, the licensed professional should have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. They should also have a good understanding of construction techniques, building codes, and zoning regulations. A bachelor's or master's degree in the discipline is required for this position, as well as state licensure.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • PE license in state of practice
  • 5-10 years of civil engineering experience related to site design, land development and land use permitting
  • Experience with Civil3D
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication skills and design skills
